Harlan Ward has worked for or managed numerous restaurants since childhood, including management of the first Wendy’s in Medford, OR (highest sales volume of any unit in the Wendy’s system in the late 1970’s), a Sizzlers unit in California (4th highest sales volume), and The Underground restaurant in Ashland, OR. Harlan has commented, “I’ve worked at numerous restaurants during my life and have never seen a customer response anything like the response at Grilla Bites. The mission, values, and healthy food get people not just coming back, but talking up the store and dragging in all their friends and relatives, and having long conversations with me and other store employees about health. I get people asking me every day about starting a restaurant.”
